With an endless variety of restaurants and "fusion" cuisine, visitors to the US Virgin Islands will bask in the flavors only the Caribbean can offer.  From Chinese to Mexican, Italian to French,  dining in the Virgin Islands will make your vacation a taste to remember.

In most cases, you can indulge in the very delicacies the Islands has to offer without stepping foot outside your hotel.  In an effort to stay competitive and gain an edge on the competition, many hotels employ top chefs from around the world.  

For a true taste of the Caribbean sea, the best dishes comes straight from the ocean waters.  Dishes comprising of such aquatic flavors like, Wahoo, grouper, mahi-mahi and conch, which happens to be the local favorite, makes any dining experience complete.

With an infusion of West Indian and African dishes, foods such as “Fungi," a cornmeal-based side dish, "kalaloo," a soup made from okra, spinach and fish, sweet-potato pudding and fried "johnnycake" bread, banana-like plantains were created and rank among the top local favorites.  To catch a taste of these cuisines, your best bet is to ask your taxi driver to take you to their favorite local restaurant.
